How to tell the real EVA AI girlfriend app from the lookalikes

Four checks settle it in under a minute, and you can do all of them before you install anything.

First, the developer name. The real app is published by Novi Limited on both stores. On the App Store it is called EVA AI Soulmate, and on Google Play it is called EVA AI Girlfriend & Character with the package name com.ifriend.app, a leftover from the app's original name, iFriend. If the developer line under the app title says anything other than Novi Limited, it is not EVA.

Second, the rating count. EVA AI Soulmate had 24,635 US ratings on 1 October 2026 and has been on the store since February 2021. A listing using the EVA name with zero ratings, or a few dozen, is not the app people are talking about.

Third, start from the vendor's website rather than from search. EVA's site is evaapp.ai, and its download buttons point to App Store ID 1551794721 and to com.ifriend.app on Google Play. Those two links are the safest way in.

Fourth, look at the price list before you tap subscribe. EVA's Apple list has monthly memberships, a Premium product and two Neuron packs. A list built around a weekly Pro plan belongs to a different app.

What does the EVA AI girlfriend app cost?

Between $11.99 and $24.99 a month if you pay monthly, about $4 a month if you take the twelve month membership, plus whatever you spend on Neurons. EVA prints no price on evaapp.ai, so the App Store listing is the only public price list.

On 1 October 2026 Apple's US list for EVA AI Soulmate showed ten items, which is the most Apple displays on a listing. Five of them were products named 1 Month Membership, at $11.99 (listed twice), $14.99, $15.99 and $24.99. There was also EVA Premium at $13.99, a 3 Months Membership at $20.99, a 12 Months Membership at $47.99, 500 Neurons at $9.99 and 2,000 Neurons at $29.99.

Two things changed since we last read the same list on 26 September. A new $15.99 monthly price appeared, and the $69.99 twelve month price we recorded then is no longer among the ten items shown. Because Apple caps the display at ten, that does not prove the $69.99 product is gone, only that a new product pushed it off the visible list. Either way, EVA is now running five monthly prices at once for the same app, and which one you are offered is the developer's choice, not yours.

The cheapest way to pay is the $47.99 year, which works out to $4.00 a month and is genuinely good value for this category. The dearest monthly price, $24.99, comes to $299.88 over a year, more than six times as much for the same app.

The App Store listing that ranks first is a different company's app

The top Google result for EVA AI girlfriend app on 1 October 2026 was an App Store page for Eva:chat AI girlfriend, App Store ID 6739034219. Apple's own lookup data for that ID tells a very different story from the real app.

Its seller is THREE TIGER NETWORK TECHNOLOGY LIMITED, not Novi Limited. It has zero US ratings. It was released on 5 December 2024 and its latest version, 1.0.5, shipped on 6 January 2025, so it has not been updated in almost two years. The developer website it lists is a page of barely a thousand bytes. Its store description reads like a general assistant template, promising to translate text, write poems and help you get things done.

Its price list is short and built around a weekly plan: EVA Week Pro at $4.99, EVA Month Pro at $19.99 and EVA Year Pro at $69.99. A $4.99 weekly plan sounds cheap until you multiply it out. Kept for a year it is $259.48, more than five times what EVA's own twelve month membership costs.

We are not saying anyone at that company did anything unlawful, and we have no information about what the app does after you pay. What we can say from Apple's data is that it is not EVA AI, it is not maintained, and it uses product names that start with EVA. If you meant to buy EVA AI, this is not it.

eva-ai.net and evai-app.com are not EVA's website

Two other results on the first page look official and are not. Both eva-ai.net and evai-app.com are WordPress sites, and the public registration records show both domains were created on the same day, 13 April 2026, through the same registrar. EVA's real domain, evaapp.ai, was registered in March 2023.

Neither site links to EVA's App Store or Google Play listing. Their buttons are wired to nothing, so clicking Get Started or Go Premium does not take you anywhere we could follow. eva-ai.net also prints its own pricing table: Free at $0 with 5 daily messages, Premium at $12 a month and VIP at $29 a month. None of those prices appears anywhere in EVA's Apple price list.

The practical risk is not that these sites charge you, since we could not find a way to pay them. It is that they show up in AI answers and review roundups as if they were EVA, and the $12 and $29 numbers get repeated as EVA's prices. If you read an EVA price that is not on Apple's list, check where it came from.

What the EVA AI girlfriend experience actually is

EVA is built around a relationship that opens up slowly. Its App Store description says it plainly: "Not everything opens up right away. You get closer over time." You pick from a set of personalities or build your own character, and the bond deepens as you talk, with moods that shift and sides of her that unlock as you go.

One small detail is worth knowing. The word girlfriend appears zero times in EVA's 1,093 character App Store description, while the Google Play title calls it EVA AI Girlfriend & Character. The positioning on Apple is softer, and the romance is something you grow into rather than something you switch on.

That progression is the real reason to choose EVA, and it is more elaborate than anything we build. Some people love having a relationship that visibly levels up. Others find that the progression and the Neurons pull in the same direction, toward spending more to get to the next stage faster. It is worth deciding which of those you are before you pick a plan.

The app is rated 18+ on the App Store, needs iOS 18 or later, and is a large download at around 246 MB.

What Neurons add to the EVA AI girlfriend bill

Neurons are EVA's in-app currency, sold on Apple at $9.99 for 500 and $29.99 for 2,000. The bigger pack gives you 66.7 Neurons per dollar against 50.1 for the small one, a third more for each dollar, which is the usual way a currency ladder nudges you up.

What a Neuron buys is where the public information runs out. EVA publishes no per action price list, so nobody can tell you in advance how far 500 Neurons will go. That matters because it means a membership does not settle the bill. A $47.99 year plus one large Neuron pack a month comes to $407.87 a year, more than eight times the membership on its own.

If you want EVA at the $4.00 a month price, the rule is simple: take the annual membership and decide in advance that you will not buy Neurons. If you already know you will, budget for them as part of the price, because they are part of the price.

Refunds and cancelling the EVA AI girlfriend app

EVA's terms do not offer refunds on store purchases. They say that if you subscribe through the Apple or Google Play store, "the sale is final, and we will not provide a refund", and that you cannot claim a refund for a partial subscription period.

Cancelling happens in the store you bought from. On an iPhone that is Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions, then EVA AI Soulmate. On Android it is Google Play, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel anything, and the membership keeps renewing until you turn it off there.

If you were charged by a lookalike app by mistake, the same store route applies, because the subscription belongs to whichever app you actually bought it in. Apple's reportaproblem.apple.com page is where you can ask Apple itself for a refund, which is separate from what any developer's terms say.

Who should choose EVA AI, and who should not

Choose EVA if the slow build is what you want. Its progression system is the most developed in the category, it has a large roster of personalities, and if you take the $47.99 year and leave Neurons alone, $4.00 a month is cheaper than our entry plan. We would rather tell you that than pretend otherwise.
