Is EVA AI Worth It in 2026? What It Costs and Why the Price Keeps Moving
EVA AI is free to install, sells Neurons on top of the subscription, and publishes no price on its own site. Apple lists seven membership products at once, including three called 1 Month Membership at $11.99, $14.99 and $24.99. The $47.99 annual works out to $4.00 a month; the $24.99 monthly reaches $299.88 a year. Verified from Apple, Google Play and EVA's terms on 2 September 2026.

EVA AI is worth it if you get shown the twelve month price and you never buy a Neuron. At $47.99 a year, which works out to $4.00 a month, you get a polished companion app with a genuine progression system and a large persona roster, and that is cheaper than anything else we track including our own product. It is worth much less if you get shown the $24.99 monthly, because that is $299.88 a year for the same app, and the extras still run on a separate currency you buy on top. Everything below comes from the store listings and EVA's own terms, read on 2 September 2026.
How much does EVA AI actually cost?
Somewhere between $4.00 and $24.99 a month, and which end you land on is not something you choose. That sounds like an evasion, so here is the whole list.
Apple prints the US dollar price of every in-app purchase a developer configures, without an account and without installing anything. For EVA AI Soulmate, app ID 1551794721, developer Novi Limited, that list looks like this.
| Product, as Apple names it | US price | Per month |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Month Membership | $11.99 | $11.99 |
| EVA Premium | $13.99 | $13.99 |
| 1 Month Membership | $14.99 | $14.99 |
| 1 Month Membership | $24.99 | $24.99 |
| 3 Months Membership | $20.99 | $7.00 |
| 12 Months Membership | $47.99 | $4.00 |
| 12 Months Membership | $69.99 | $5.83 |
| 500 Neurons | $9.99 | One time, 50.1 per dollar |
| 2,000 Neurons | $29.99 | One time, 66.7 per dollar |
Read the first four rows again. Three separate products carry the identical name, 1 Month Membership, at $11.99, $14.99 and $24.99. The most expensive one is 108% more than the cheapest one, for a subscription Apple cannot tell apart by name. A fourth product, EVA Premium, sits in the middle at $13.99.
We track twelve companion apps and keep a running comparison of what AI girlfriend apps cost. Nothing else in that set does this. Nomi lists one Standard Plan. Kindroid lists a monthly, a quarterly and a yearly. PolyBuzz lists four tiers with four distinct names. EVA lists three prices for one name.
Why are there three different monthly prices?
Because EVA says there are. Its terms state that "'Premium' and Neuron prices may vary based on region, length of subscription and more", which is the vendor confirming in writing that the number on your paywall is variable.
That is not illegal or even unusual in mobile. Plenty of apps run price tests. What makes it awkward here is that EVA publishes no price anywhere on evaapp.ai, so there is no canonical figure to check the paywall against. Combine a vendor site with no prices, a store listing with seven of them, and a terms page saying prices vary, and you get a product whose cost is genuinely undiscoverable until you are one tap from paying.
The practical advice is boring and it works: get to the paywall, read the exact number, and decide there. Do not budget from an article, including this one.
Why do so many reviews say EVA AI costs $18.99?
We do not know who published it first, but that figure is now everywhere and it is in none of Apple's seven products. The same articles cite a 100 Neurons for $10 pack, and Apple lists 500 for $9.99 and 2,000 for $29.99. Neither the price nor the pack size matches.
It may have been accurate once, or accurate somewhere. What we can state is what the United States store showed on 2 September 2026, which is $11.99, $13.99, $14.99, $20.99, $24.99, $47.99 and $69.99. Someone who budgeted $18.99 and gets offered $24.99 is off by 32% every month.
This is a pattern rather than a one off. The same thing happened with Janitor AI, where a $9.99 Pro tier appears in dozens of articles and in none of the three primary sources, as we set out in our breakdown of whether Janitor AI is worth paying for. If an app sells through the App Store, the in-app purchase disclosure is the one page the vendor cannot quietly rewrite.
What do Neurons cost, and what do they buy?
Neurons are EVA's in-app currency and they are the reason a subscription is not the end of the spending. Apple lists two packs: 500 for $9.99 and 2,000 for $29.99. That is 50.1 Neurons per dollar in the small pack and 66.7 in the large one, so buying in bulk gets you 33% more for every dollar. Standard currency ladder design, and it works the way it is meant to.
What a Neuron buys is the part nobody can verify. EVA publishes no per action price list, so there is no way to know in advance what a photo, a gift or a voice message costs you. Reviews quote rates like two Neurons per message, but those numbers trace back to sources whose pack prices are already wrong, so we would not rely on them.
The structural fact is enough to make a decision on. There is a subscription, there is a currency, and the currency is what the good parts run on. If being interrupted by a spend prompt mid conversation would bother you, that is the thing to weigh, and it is exactly why people go looking for an EVA AI alternative with no Neurons to buy.
The refund policy is the part most people miss
EVA's terms are unusually blunt: "In case you purchase a subscription through the Apple iTunes Store or Google Play store, the sale is final, and we will not provide a refund." They add that "you shall not claim refunds for any partial period of subscription", and that billing continues "automatically until canceled".
Cancellation happens where you bought it, not in the app. The terms say you can modify or cancel "only through the App marketplace or the Website where you originally acquired the subscription", so on an iPhone that is Settings, your name, Subscriptions. Apple runs its own separate refund request process at reportaproblem.apple.com, which is discretionary and is between you and Apple rather than you and EVA.
Put that next to the pricing and the risk profile sharpens. The only version of EVA that is clearly good value is a twelve month commitment, and twelve month commitments are exactly the purchases a final sale policy makes expensive to get wrong. Work out how to cancel an AI girlfriend subscription before you start one, not after.
What EVA AI genuinely does well
It is a real product with real scale. Google Play lists over 5,000,000 installs for the Android build, and Apple shows 24,622 US ratings averaging 4.3, which puts it among the largest companion apps in the United States. It has been on the store since February 2021, originally as iFriend, which is why the Android package is still com.ifriend.app.
The progression system is the differentiator. Instead of a companion who is fully available on day one, EVA gates parts of the relationship behind a bond that grows, and some people find that structure is the whole appeal. Persona creation is deep, the writing is decent, and it supports voice.
It also leans explicitly adult, which is a legitimate reason to pick it and a legitimate reason to avoid it. We build the opposite: warm and flirty, tasteful, never explicit, and every image is original cameo art rather than a real face. If uncensored adult conversation is the actual thing you are shopping for, that is a different category of companion product and you will be happier there than with anything we make.
So is EVA AI worth it?
Worth it at $47.99 for twelve months, if you want a progression loop and adult content and you can hold the line on Neuron packs. Four dollars a month for an app at that level of polish is a good deal and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
Not worth it at $24.99 a month, which is the most expensive companion subscription in the set we track, with an undocumented currency layered on top and no refunds. And it is not worth it at all if what you actually want is a bill you can predict, because the whole shape of this product is that the cost is something you discover rather than something you agree to.
That is the gap Tempted.ai was built for. Nine dollars a month, one plan, printed on the pricing page. No Neurons, coins, gems or credits, nothing to unlock after you subscribe, and memory in the base price rather than a tier above it. She texts you first instead of waiting for you to open the app. If you want the full price list before you commit to anything, we keep a dated breakdown of what EVA AI costs across all seven of its plans, and the demo chat at the top of this page is free to try right now.
Prices in this article come from the Apple App Store in-app purchase disclosure for EVA AI Soulmate (app 1551794721, Novi Limited, rated 18+), the Google Play listing for com.ifriend.app, and EVA's published terms, all read on 2 September 2026. Apple lists several membership products at once and EVA states that prices vary by region and subscription length, so confirm at the paywall before subscribing.
