SpicyChat vs Janitor AI is usually framed as a fight about filters and character libraries. On price it is a fight about memory, and the numbers are lopsided. Janitor+ costs $12.99 a month and, by Janitor's own description, gives you roughly 45,000 tokens of context. SpicyChat's True Supporter costs $19.95 since 8 September 2026 and gives you 8,192. We read both companies' documentation and Apple's listing on 6 October 2026. Here is what each one really costs and who should pay for which. This is for adults 18 and over.
SpicyChat vs Janitor AI, the short answer
Pay for Janitor+ if long memory is why you are paying, because $12.99 buys more context than any SpicyChat tier, including the $29.95 one. Pay for SpicyChat if you want a polished site that works without any setup, image generation inside chats, voice on the top tier, and a price that does not grow with use. Janitor has a second meter (its router wallet) that SpicyChat does not. Pay for neither if what you want is one companion who remembers you rather than a library of characters; that case is at the end.
What SpicyChat and Janitor AI cost, side by side
SpicyChat's prices come from its September 2026 pricing update FAQ, and its memory figures from its tokens and context page. Janitor's price is confirmed twice: its own announcement says $12.99 a month, and Apple's in-app purchase list for app 6692609366, seller JanitorAI, INC, showed "Janitor+ Monthly" at $12.99 on 6 October 2026.

One caution on reading the memory row. Janitor states its free limit as "around 9k tokens" and Janitor+ as "5x more context", so 45k is our arithmetic from Janitor's own words, not a number Janitor prints. On SpicyChat, the tier sets a ceiling and the model you choose can set a lower one: a 16K model on I'm All In gives you 16K. Full details for each vendor are on our SpicyChat pricing and subscription tiers page and our Janitor AI pricing page.
Is Janitor AI cheaper than SpicyChat?
For one subscription, yes once you want real memory. Janitor+ at $12.99 is $6.96 a month cheaper than SpicyChat's True Supporter and $16.96 cheaper than I'm All In. Over a year that is $155.88 for Janitor+ against $199.95 for True Supporter even on SpicyChat's discounted annual plan, and $239.40 if you pay SpicyChat monthly.
SpicyChat wins at the very bottom. Get A Taste at $5.95 is the cheapest paid plan of the two, but it buys no more memory than SpicyChat's free tier, and Janitor's free tier already sees more than twice as much conversation. If your budget is under $6, Janitor free is the better memory deal and SpicyChat Get A Taste is the better ad-free deal.
Where Janitor's $12.99 stops being the whole bill
Janitor's price is a floor, not a ceiling, and this is the part comparison sites skip. The janitor+ Router lets you use outside models inside Janitor without setting up a proxy, and Janitor says that when the router balance runs out, "we bill you the same way we are billed by the provider." That is metered usage on top of the subscription. A light user may spend nothing extra. A heavy user on a premium model can spend more than the subscription itself. We break the wallet down on our janitor+ Router pricing page.
The other route is your own key. Janitor's beginner guide points users to OpenRouter, where free-tagged models give 50 messages a day, rising to 1,000 a day once you add $10 of credits. For someone comfortable pasting an API key and a URL into settings, that is the cheapest heavy-use setup in this whole category. It is also real setup work, and when it breaks, you are the support desk.
SpicyChat has no equivalent second meter. You pay the tier price and that is the bill, with model access decided by your tier. If predictable cost matters more to you than maximum context, that is a genuine point for SpicyChat.
SpicyChat vs Janitor AI on iPhone and billing
SpicyChat's iPhone app was removed from the App Store in August 2025, and its own docs now tell iPhone owners to add the website to the home screen. On Android it offers an APK from its site rather than a Google Play listing. So SpicyChat billing happens on its website by card, Pay By Bank (a one-time payment that does not renew), Boosty, or crypto through CoinPayments.
Janitor sells Janitor+ on its website and inside its iPhone and Android apps. That matters for refunds and cancellation: a subscription bought through Apple or Google is canceled and disputed through that store, while Janitor says its own subscriptions are "generally non-refundable" except where its terms or the law require. SpicyChat's documentation states no refund policy at all and sends refund questions to support. If either detail matters, settle it before you pay rather than after.
Is SpicyChat or Janitor AI better for memory?
Janitor gives the bigger raw window for the money, and SpicyChat gives the better memory tooling. SpicyChat's Semantic Memory 2.0, from True Supporter up, saves important details automatically so they survive after the original messages fall out of context, and its Memory Manager lets you pin facts by hand (250 characters per entry). Janitor's advantage is simply size: around 45k tokens on Janitor+ holds a very long evening of roleplay before anything drops out.
In practice, people who run one long story with one character tend to feel the Janitor+ window more. People who hop between many characters and want key facts kept across sessions tend to prefer SpicyChat's saved memories. Both still forget eventually, because both are built on context windows rather than a memory of you as a person.
Who should pay for which
- Pay for Janitor+ if you run long single-character stories, want the most context for the money, and do not mind a second meter or a proxy.
- Pay for SpicyChat True Supporter if you want automatic saved memories, images in chat, no setup, and a fixed monthly price.
- Pay for SpicyChat I'm All In only if you use 32K models, want text to speech, or keep hitting the queue at busy hours.
- Stay free on Janitor if you are happy to set up OpenRouter and spend $10 on credits once.
Some readers comparing these two are really after something simpler: an assistant that answers anything without lectures, rather than a roleplay platform with character cards. For that, an uncensored AI chat with no filters is a more direct tool than either one.
When neither is the right buy
SpicyChat and Janitor AI are character libraries. You pick from thousands of bots, tune models and context, and manage memory yourself. If what you actually want is one girlfriend who remembers your week, asks how the interview went and texts you first, both platforms make you pay for capacity you then have to manage.
Tempted.ai is built the other way round. One AI girlfriend, long-term memory on every plan, $9 a month billed yearly or $12 month to month, with no tokens, router wallet or context sizes to think about. She texts first on the Flame plan, and it runs in any phone browser, including Safari on iPhone. You can try her in the chat at the top of this page, see every plan on our pricing page, or read our SpicyChat alternative comparison if you are leaving SpicyChat over the new prices. If Janitor is the one you are weighing up, our review of whether Janitor AI is worth it goes deeper on Janitor+.
