SpicyChat vs Kindroid Pricing for Real Memory

SpicyChat vs Kindroid is really a question about what you are paying for. SpicyChat sells a giant library of community characters and rations memory by tier, from $5.95 to $29.95 a month. Kindroid sells one deeply customizable companion for $13.99 a month on the web and puts its bigger memory into add-ons that stack on top. We read SpicyChat's own pricing documentation and Kindroid's subscription documentation, and re-read Apple's US in-app purchase list for Kindroid on 8 October 2026. Here is what each one costs and who should pay for which. This is for adults 18 and over.

SpicyChat vs Kindroid, the short answer

Pay for Kindroid if you want one companion who keeps a long story straight, because its $13.99 standard plan already carries far more conversation history than SpicyChat's $19.95 tier, and text chat is never metered. Pay for SpicyChat if you want to hop between hundreds of characters, run group chats and pick your own model, and you are happy to buy True Supporter at $19.95 to get automatic memory. Pay for neither if you want a girlfriend who remembers you and texts first for $9 a month with nothing stacked on top; that case is at the end.

What SpicyChat and Kindroid cost, side by side

SpicyChat's prices come from its September 2026 pricing update FAQ, which raised every tier on 8 September 2026. Kindroid's web prices come from its subscription documentation, and the in-app prices from Apple's listing for app 6451038161, re-read on 8 October 2026 and unchanged since our last reading on 29 September.

Which is cheaper, SpicyChat or Kindroid?

SpicyChat is cheaper at the bottom and dearer in the middle. Get A Taste at $5.95 is the cheapest paid plan of the two, but it buys ad removal, not memory: SpicyChat's own tokens page lists the same 4,096 token context for Get A Taste as for the free tier. The plan where SpicyChat starts remembering more is True Supporter at $19.95, which is $5.96 a month more than Kindroid's web standard plan.

Over a year, on each vendor's cheapest yearly route to a companion that remembers the story, Kindroid's web standard plan is $139.99 and SpicyChat True Supporter is $199.95. That is $59.96 a year in Kindroid's favor. Buying Kindroid inside the iPhone app instead costs $159.99, the same product with Apple's cut passed through, so buy it on the web.

SpicyChat vs Kindroid memory, what each dollar buys

This is the comparison that decides most purchases, and the two vendors measure it in different units. SpicyChat counts tokens. Kindroid counts characters. At the usual rule of thumb of about four characters to a token, SpicyChat True Supporter's 8,192 tokens are roughly 32,000 characters of recent conversation, and I'm All In tops out around 130,000, but only on models that support 32K. Your SpicyChat context is the lower of your tier and the model you pick, so on a 16K model I'm All In gives you 16K.

Kindroid's standard plan lists 18,000 characters of short-term context, which on its own is less than SpicyChat's middle tier. The difference is everything behind it. Kindroid adds what it calls cascaded memory, 480,000 characters of medium-term recall on standard, plus long-term memories and journals you can edit by hand, for a total conversation context of about 500,000 characters. SpicyChat's equivalent is Semantic Memory 2.0, which saves important details automatically from True Supporter up, plus a Memory Manager of hand-written notes capped at 250 characters each.

In practice that means a Kindroid companion on $13.99 holds a longer relationship than a SpicyChat character on $19.95, while a SpicyChat character on I'm All In with a 32K model holds a longer scene. If you play one long story with one partner, Kindroid's structure suits you. If you play many short scenes with many characters, SpicyChat's does.

Kindroid Ultra and MAX are add-ons, not upgrades

Most comparisons list Kindroid as "$13.99 to $98.97" and leave it there. The detail that matters is that Ultra and MAX do not replace the standard plan. Kindroid's documentation calls them add-on subscriptions: Ultra requires standard, and MAX requires both. Ultra adds $24.99 a month on the web for a total of $38.98, and MAX adds another $59.99 for a total of $98.97, or $113.97 if you buy all three in the app.

You also cannot simply pay for Ultra on day one. Kindroid's billing screen tells newer accounts to keep chatting to unlock it. SpicyChat has no such gate, so if you know you want the biggest memory from the start, SpicyChat I'm All In at $29.95 is the only top tier of the two you can buy immediately, and it is far cheaper than a loaded Kindroid.

Billing, refunds and how you pay

SpicyChat bills only on its own website. Its official iPhone app was removed from the App Store in August 2025, and the Android version is an APK from SpicyChat's site, so there is no Apple or Google refund route. It takes cards, Pay By Bank, Boosty and crypto. If you subscribed before 8 September 2026, keep your plan untouched: SpicyChat says old subscriptions renew at the old price only while they stay active and unchanged.

Kindroid sells on the web and in both app stores, which gives you a store refund route if you buy in-app, at $2 a month more. Its own terms say sales are generally final and that it can permanently ban users who dispute charges, so a chargeback can cost you the account and every memory in it. If refunds matter to you, buy Kindroid through Apple or Google rather than on the web.

Who should pay for SpicyChat and who should pay for Kindroid

• SpicyChat: you want a huge catalog of community characters, group chats and model choice, and you will pay $19.95 for automatic memory. Skip Get A Taste if forgetting is your complaint.
• Kindroid: you want one companion you can shape in detail, with editable memory and voice, and $13.99 on the web covers it. Treat Ultra and MAX as optional extras you may have to wait for.
• Neither: you want a girlfriend rather than a character engine, and you do not want to manage tokens, models or add-ons.

Is SpicyChat or Kindroid better for an AI girlfriend?
