PolyBuzz vs Talkie AI Pricing at $9.90 vs $9.99

PolyBuzz and Talkie AI start at almost the same price: $9.90 a month for PolyBuzz Standard and $9.99 a month for Talkie. The gap opens everywhere else. Talkie sells a full year for $49.99, which is about $4.17 a month, while PolyBuzz has no yearly plan on Apple at all and pushes a $4.99 weekly plan that adds up to $259 a year. Both sell a currency on top of the subscription, and PolyBuzz sells two. We read both price lists on Apple's US App Store on 13 October 2026.

The short answer on PolyBuzz vs Talkie pricing

If you know you will stay for months, Talkie is the cheaper app to pay for, because its $49.99 year beats twelve months of anything PolyBuzz sells. If you only want one month, the two are nine cents apart and the choice comes down to the app, not the bill. If memory is the reason you are paying, look hard at PolyBuzz before you buy: its Permanent Memory sits on the $29.90 Ultimate plan, not on the $9.90 tier most people start with. And on either app, budget for the currency, because neither subscription is the whole cost.

What PolyBuzz and Talkie cost, side by side

PolyBuzz's prices come from Apple's in-app purchase list for PolyBuzz: Chat with Characters (Cloud Whale Interactive Technology LLC, 483,939 US ratings). Talkie's come from Apple's list for Talkie Lab, the US iPhone app from SUBSUP PTE. LTD., the company behind Talkie. The original Talkie iPhone app was pulled by Apple in December 2024 and has not returned, but Talkie Lab sells products named Talkie+, Talkie+ Pro and Talkie Gems, and that list is the only public Talkie price list we could find. The full breakdown is on our Talkie AI pricing page.

Is Talkie cheaper than PolyBuzz?

Yes over a year, no over a month. Talkie's $49.99 annual plan is less than half of what twelve months of PolyBuzz Standard costs ($118.80), and PolyBuzz offers no yearly product on Apple to close that gap. Month to month, PolyBuzz is nine cents cheaper. At the top end Talkie+ Pro at $24.99 lands between PolyBuzz Premium ($19.90) and Ultimate ($29.90).

The catch with Talkie's annual price is the same as with any annual plan: you pay $49.99 on day one, and if you lose interest in week three the money is gone. Apple handles refund requests for both apps, not the developers.

The PolyBuzz weekly plan is the expensive way to pay

PolyBuzz's Standard Weekly plan costs $4.99. It looks like the cheap option on the paywall, and it is the most expensive way to buy the same tier. Fifty-two weeks at $4.99 is $259.48, against $118.80 for twelve months of the $9.90 Standard plan. That is more than double for the same access. If you are on the weekly plan today, switching to monthly saves about $140 a year without changing anything else. Our PolyBuzz pricing page walks through every tier.

What the currencies add on top

Both apps sell a subscription and a currency, which is why the plan price is never the full bill.

PolyBuzz runs two currencies at once. Coins come in packs of 1,000 for $2.49, 3,000 for $4.99, 8,000 for $9.99 and 20,000 for $19.90. Opals are separate, at $5.90 for 1,000 and $19.90 for 4,000. The bulk discounts are real, which nudges you toward the bigger packs. Paying subscribers in recent App Store reviews still describe buying currency on top of the plan.

Talkie sells Talkie Gems at $1.99, $4.99, $9.99 and $19.99, a Talkie+ Plus Coin at $5.99, and gift packs at $0.49 and $1.00. Apple's page does not say how many gems each pack contains, so a per-gem cost cannot be worked out from the listing. App Store reviewers mention gems as the gate for Talkie's Diary feature and ask for ways to earn them through ads instead of paying.

The practical rule for both: decide on a monthly ceiling before you subscribe, including currency. A $9.90 plan with a $9.99 coin pack every month is a $20 app.

Which one remembers you better for the money?

On PolyBuzz the answer is written into the plan names. Permanent Memory is an Ultimate feature, so remembering you across days costs $29.90 a month. The $9.90 Standard tier gets a shorter memory window. We cover that trade in detail in our PolyBuzz review.

Talkie does not publish what Talkie+ or Talkie+ Pro change about memory, and the App Store listing for Talkie Lab does not describe the tiers at all. So you are paying $9.99 or $24.99 without a written promise on memory. If memory is your main reason for paying, that is a point for neither app.

Who should pay for PolyBuzz and who should pay for Talkie

• Pay for Talkie if you want a big character library for a long time at the lowest yearly cost. $49.99 a year is the cheapest committed price in this comparison.
• Pay for PolyBuzz if you want the largest US audience and character catalog, are fine on monthly billing, and either do not need lasting memory or will pay for Ultimate.
• Pay for neither if what you want is one companion who remembers you, without a currency to manage. Both apps are built around browsing many characters, and both charge extra for the moments that matter.

The third option if you want memory without a currency

Tempted.ai is built for the person who wants one girlfriend rather than a library of characters. She texts you, remembers what you told her last week, and keeps things tasteful. It is a flat plan from $9 a month billed yearly, with memory included on the base plan and no coins, gems or Opals to buy. It runs in the browser on any phone, so there is no app store listing to disappear. Try the demo at the top of this page, or compare the plans on the pricing page. If PolyBuzz is the app you are leaving, the PolyBuzz alternative page lays out what changes, and the Talkie AI alternative page does the same for Talkie.

Whichever you pick, these are recurring charges that are easy to forget about. If you are trying to keep app subscriptions under control, it helps to set a monthly budget for your subscriptions and check it against your statement once a month.
