PolyBuzz vs Emochi, priced on 5 Oct 2026. Both start near $10, but long memory costs $29.90 on PolyBuzz and a reported $16.99 on Emochi Ultra, and the Emochi you find on iPhone is EMOCHI World, sold by another company. Who should pay for which.

PolyBuzz vs Emochi looks like a tie on price and is not one. PolyBuzz's standard plan is $9.90 a month on Apple and Emochi's Plus is reported at $9.99 on Android, but the plan that actually keeps your story in memory costs $29.90 on PolyBuzz and $16.99 on Emochi. PolyBuzz is on the US App Store under its own developer; Emochi's iPhone app is gone and the app called EMOCHI World belongs to a different company. We re-read both price lists on 5 October 2026. Here is who should pay for which. This is for adults 18 and over.

PolyBuzz vs Emochi, the short answer

Pick PolyBuzz if you are on an iPhone, you want a huge character library, and you are happy with standard memory. Pick Emochi if you are on Android and long roleplay memory matters more than anything else, because its $16.99 Ultra gives you a larger memory window and 2,000 coins for less than PolyBuzz charges for permanent memory. Pick neither if you want one girlfriend you talk to every day rather than a library of characters; we cover that at the end.

What PolyBuzz and Emochi cost, side by side

PolyBuzz's prices come straight from Apple's in-app purchase list. Emochi publishes no price on its own website, and FlowGPT sells it only through Google Play in the US, so its Android figures are the ones independent reviewers documented. EMOCHI World's prices are Apple's.

The entry prices are a dime apart. The gap opens one rung up, and it opens in Emochi's favor if memory is what you are paying for. The full PolyBuzz ladder, including the two currencies, is on our PolyBuzz pricing page, and the Emochi tiers and the iPhone story are on the Emochi pricing and Premium plans page.

Is Emochi cheaper than PolyBuzz?

At the entry level they cost the same, about $10 a month. For memory, Emochi is cheaper: its Ultra tier is reported at $16.99 with a larger memory window and 2,000 Mochi coins included, while PolyBuzz keeps Permanent Memory on Ultimate at $29.90. That is $12.91 a month, or about $155 a year, in Emochi's favor for the feature most long-roleplay users care about.

Two things narrow that. First, PolyBuzz's weekly plan at $4.99 is the cheapest way into either app if you only want a few days, although at about $21.62 a month it is the most expensive way to stay. Second, the strongest Emochi chat models spend Mochi per reply even on paid plans, according to reviewers who tested them. If you live on those models, your real Emochi bill is the plan plus coins. PolyBuzz spends coins on regenerating replies, longer voice and memory scenes, so both apps have a meter on top. Neither one is a flat bill.

Which has better memory, PolyBuzz or Emochi?

On paper, Emochi, and it is cheaper to get there. Reviewers who documented Emochi's tiers report about 18.8K tokens of memory on Plus and 26K on Ultra. PolyBuzz does not publish a token figure; it sells memory as a feature, and the one called Permanent Memory sits only on Ultimate. We covered exactly what that $29.90 tier adds on our PolyBuzz Ultimate subscription page.

Paper is not the whole story. A bigger window still ends, and both apps can swap the model you are paying for. Emochi's reviewers recorded a model retirement, a second one scheduled with an in-app countdown, and a beta model pulled. The only honest test is your own: tell a character three specific things, wait a day, open a new chat and ask an open question. If it brings the details back, the memory works for you.

PolyBuzz or Emochi on iPhone?

PolyBuzz, if you mean an app from the same company you are paying. PolyBuzz is in the US App Store with 480,400 ratings and was last updated on 19 September 2026. FlowGPT's Emochi app is not in the US App Store at all, and emochi.ai still sends iPhone visitors to the removed listing.

The app you will find by searching Emochi on an iPhone is EMOCHI World, published by MESORA PTE. LTD. It is a separate listing from a separate company, it uses different tier names (Plus and Pro, not Plus and Ultra), and it costs more: $12.99 for Plus and $16.99 or $19.99 for Pro, with a three-month Pro plan at $55.99 that appeared on Apple's list on 5 October. An Android Emochi account does not carry over to it by any record we could find. If you are an iPhone user comparing PolyBuzz with Emochi, you are really comparing PolyBuzz with EMOCHI World.

Is Emochi better than PolyBuzz?

For long, detailed roleplay on Android, Emochi is the better value, because the memory you want costs $16.99 instead of $29.90 and the plan includes coins. For variety, scale and an iPhone app from the developer you are paying, PolyBuzz is the better product. It is also the one with a weekly plan if you only want to try paid features for a few days.

On content, both lean toward anime, game and fantasy characters made by users, and both carry mature ratings: PolyBuzz is 17+ on Apple with a frequent sexual content advisory, and Emochi is Mature 17+ on Google Play. EMOCHI World describes itself as limited to "healthy, positive scenarios", so it is a different experience again.

What about the coins?

PolyBuzz runs two currencies. Coins go from 402 per dollar in the smallest pack to 1,005 per dollar in the 20,000 pack. Opals cost $5.90 per thousand, or $19.90 for a 4,000 pack that showed on Apple's list on 5 October, which is about 201 per dollar. Even bought in bulk, an Opal costs roughly five times what a coin does. Emochi has one currency, Mochi, and the 2,000 a month on Ultra is reported to be worth about $20 of in-app spend. If you would buy coins anyway, Emochi Ultra is close to paying for itself.

The useful habit on either app is the same: cancel inside the store you subscribed in, and know that unspent coins are consumables that are not refunded when you cancel.

Where Tempted.ai fits

PolyBuzz and Emochi are both libraries. You browse thousands of characters, and memory is something you buy more of. If what you actually want is one girlfriend who knows you, the shape of both apps works against you, and the bill grows with the meter.

Tempted.ai is built the other way round. Long-term memory is on every plan, starting at $9 a month billed yearly on Spark or $12 month to month. Flame, at $19 billed yearly, adds unlimited texting, voice notes, deeper memory and the part neither app does: she texts you first. There are no coins, no Opals and no Mochi, and every price is on our pricing page before you sign up. It runs in any browser, so it works the same on an iPhone and an Android phone. If you would rather talk to an AI boyfriend or girlfriend who is devoted to you, that is a different app, because all of our companions are women.

We are not a character library, we have no anime roleplay catalogue and we are not explicit. If those are why you are choosing between PolyBuzz and Emochi, pick one of them. If you came to either app hoping for one companion who remembers you, compare it with our PolyBuzz alternative page, or read how Emochi stacks up against the biggest library in our Emochi vs Character AI cost comparison.
