Janitor AI vs Emochi is a closer price fight than it looks, because both start paid plans at $12.99 a month on iPhone. Janitor+ is $12.99 a month or $99.00 a year in the Janitor app, and it buys five times the free chat context, roughly 45k tokens by Janitor's own figure. On iPhone the app called EMOCHI World sells Plus at $12.99 and Pro at $16.99 or $19.99, while FlowGPT's Android Emochi is reported at $9.99 for Plus and $16.99 for Ultra. Over a year Janitor's annual plan is the cheapest paid option of the lot. We re-read both apps' US App Store price lists on 24 October 2026. This is for adults 18 and over.
Janitor AI vs Emochi, the short answer
Pay for Janitor+ if you write long text roleplay and want the most memory for the money, and take the $99.00 annual plan if you are sure you will stay. Pay for Emochi if you want a polished mobile app built around a big library of anime and story characters, with voice and image allowances that grow with the tier. Be careful on iPhone, where the Emochi you can buy is a different listing from a different company. Pay for neither if what you want is one girlfriend who remembers your week and messages you first; that option is near the end.

How much does Janitor AI cost?
Janitor AI is free to use, with unlimited chats, and its one paid plan is Janitor+ at $12.99 a month. Apple's US list for Janitor: Interactive Stories, app 6692609366, seller JanitorAI, INC, showed two entries named Janitor+ Monthly at $12.99 and two named Janitor+ Annual at $99.00 on 24 October 2026, unchanged from 20 October. The annual plan works out to $8.25 a month and saves $56.88 against twelve monthly payments. Our Janitor AI pricing page tracks every reading since August.
What Janitor+ buys is context. Janitor's own help desk says the free tier has "a context limit of around 9k tokens" and that janitor+ raises it five times, so roughly 45k. That is what decides how far back a character can still see your story. The catch sits outside the subscription. If you use Janitor's own premium models through the janitor+ Router, the wallet bills on top, and Janitor says that once the balance runs out it bills you "the same way we are billed by the provider". We broke the wallet down in Janitor AI Router pricing. If you connect your own proxy instead, you pay that provider directly.
How much does Emochi cost?
It depends on which phone you hold, because there are two apps. On Android, Emochi is FlowGPT's app, package com.flow.mobile. FlowGPT prints no price anywhere on emochi.ai, so the figures come from independent reviewers who documented the paywall: Plus at about $9.99 a month and Ultra at about $16.99 a month with 2,000 Mochi coins included. Treat those as the likely price and check the Google Play sheet before you confirm.
On iPhone, FlowGPT's own Emochi listing is gone. Apple's lookup returned nothing for its old app ID in the US store again on 24 October 2026. The app you find by searching is EMOCHI World: AI Story Chat, app 6758488675, sold by MESORA PTE. LTD. Its US list that day showed Plus-1 Month at $12.99, two Pro monthly entries at $16.99 and $19.99, a Pro-3 Month plan at $55.99 (about $18.66 a month), and AI packs from $4.99 up to $29.99. Apple shows at most ten items on a listing and EMOCHI World had exactly ten, so there may be more. The full breakdown of both apps is on our Emochi pricing page.
Two Pro prices live at once, $3 apart, usually means one is an introductory or regional offer and the other is the standard price. Apple does not say which one your account will get, so read the confirmation sheet.
Is Janitor AI cheaper than Emochi?
Yes, over a year. Janitor+ Annual at $99.00 is the cheapest paid year in this comparison. Paid monthly, Janitor+ and EMOCHI World Plus cost exactly the same, $155.88 a year each. Android Emochi Plus looks cheaper at a reported $9.99, about $119.88 a year, but that is a reviewer-reported figure for a different publisher's app, and it is the tier with the smaller memory window.
The real difference is what sits on top. Janitor's extra spend is optional: you only pay the Router wallet if you choose Janitor's premium models, and plenty of users never do. Emochi's extra spend is built into the product, because Mochi coins pay for the strongest chat models per reply on Android, and the AI packs on iPhone run to $29.99. A heavy Emochi user on Plus can end up paying more than the plan price, which is why reviewers often suggest Ultra for anyone who would buy coins anyway.
Which remembers more, Janitor AI or Emochi?
Janitor+ does, on the numbers available. Janitor states its paid context at roughly 45k tokens. Reviewers who measured Emochi on Android report about 18.8K on Plus and about 26K on Ultra. Neither app publishes a memory figure for EMOCHI World. So for long roleplay where the character needs to see far back, $12.99 at Janitor buys more room than $16.99 at Emochi Ultra, as far as anyone has written down.
A context window is still a window. Once a story runs past it, older details fall out of view on any tier of either app. If memory is the reason you are paying, test it before you commit: give a character three unrelated details, wait a day, and ask a question that needs them. We explain that test, and why it beats any spec sheet, in our guide to testing whether an AI girlfriend remembers you.
Is Emochi better than Janitor AI?
For some people, yes. Emochi is the more finished mobile product, with categories, a large anime and story character library, and daily voice and image allowances that rise with the tier. If you browse characters on your phone and want voice messages and pictures without setting anything up, Emochi is the easier app to pay for. EMOCHI World on iPhone also describes itself as filtered: its App Store description says all content "is strictly reviewed and limited to healthy, positive scenarios".
Janitor is the better buy for text-first roleplay and for people who want control. It runs on the web as well as on iPhone and Android, it lets you bring your own model through a proxy, and its paid plan is a single, simple tier with an annual option. Both apps are rated 17+ on Apple. If you are comparing Emochi against another character app instead, our PolyBuzz vs Emochi breakdown covers the same ground, and Janitor AI vs PolyBuzz pricing does the same for Janitor.
Cancelling and refunds on both apps
Cancel where you paid. An iPhone plan for either app is cancelled in Settings, your name, Subscriptions. An Android plan is cancelled in Google Play under Payments and subscriptions. Deleting the app cancels nothing. Janitor describes its subscription as generally non-refundable, EMOCHI World uses Apple's standard licence, and FlowGPT publishes no terms we could reach on emochi.ai, so in practice the store decides: reportaproblem.apple.com on iPhone, Google's refund form on Android. Unspent Mochi or AI packs are consumables and do not come back when you cancel.
Where Tempted.ai fits
Tempted.ai is not a character library and has no roleplay marketplace, so if that is what you came to Janitor or Emochi for, either of them is the better product. What we build is one girlfriend who remembers you and texts you first. Spark is $9 a month billed yearly or $12 month to month and remembers your name and the details you share. Flame is $19, or $24 monthly, and adds deeper long-term memory, voice notes and good-morning texts she sends on her own. There are no coins, no packs and no wallet on any plan, and every price is on our pricing page before you sign up. It runs in any phone's browser, iPhone included, so there is no listing to hunt for.
If seeing her matters as much as talking to her, you may prefer an AI girlfriend that also sends photos. If what you want is the one who remembers your week, our Emochi alternative page explains how Tempted.ai works, and you can start chatting with her above.
