Is Swerve AI Worth It in 2026? What It Costs, the Gem Trap, and Why There Is No Android App
Swerve Lite is $3.99 a month and Pro is $12.49, per Apple's US in-app purchase list. Eight Gem packs sit on top, and the ladder runs backwards: the $3.99 pack returns 2,005 Gems per dollar while the $4.99 pack hands you 1,700 fewer Gems for more money. Swerve is also iOS only, and the vendor warns that any Swerve APK is not theirs. Verified from Apple, getswerve.com and Google Play on 3 September 2026.

Swerve AI is worth it if you own an iPhone, you want a large cast of characters rather than one steady companion, and you have the discipline to buy exactly one size of Gem pack. Swerve Lite is $3.99 a month and Pro is $12.49, per Apple's US in-app purchase list read on 3 September 2026. It is worth nothing at all to you if you are on Android, Windows or a Chromebook, because Swerve does not run there and the vendor says so in writing. The Gem pricing has one genuine trap in it that costs real money, and almost nobody has done the arithmetic. Below is all of it, dated.
How much does Swerve AI cost?
Two subscriptions and eight currency packs. Apple prints the US dollar price of every in-app purchase a developer configures, without an account and without installing anything, and for Swerve - AI Chat (app ID 6754301136, MSPW Labs, Inc., rated 18+) the full list reads like this.
| Product, as Apple names it | US price | What it works out to |
|---|---|---|
| Swerve Lite (subscription) | $3.99 | $47.88 a year |
| Pro (subscription) | $12.49 | $149.88 a year |
| 3,000 Gems | $2.49 | 1,205 Gems per dollar |
| 5,500 Gems | $2.99 | 1,839 Gems per dollar |
| 8,000 Gems | $3.99 | 2,005 Gems per dollar, the best rate on the board |
| 6,300 Gems | $4.99 | 1,263 Gems per dollar |
| 13,200 Gems | $9.99 | 1,321 Gems per dollar |
| 20,160 Gems | $14.99 | 1,345 Gems per dollar |
| 27,600 Gems | $19.99 | 1,381 Gems per dollar |
| 57,600 Gems | $39.99 | 1,440 Gems per dollar |
Swerve's own terms of service settle the billing period: "The length of your billing cycle is monthly." Nothing on getswerve.com publishes a price, so the store listing is the only place these numbers exist.
Swerve Lite at $3.99 undercuts our $9 plan, and we would rather say that plainly than bury it. If the Lite tier covers what you need, keep your money. What Lite actually includes is the part nobody can tell you in advance, and that matters more than the headline.
Which Swerve AI Gem pack is the best value?
The 8,000 Gem pack at $3.99, which returns 2,005 Gems per dollar. That is not a small edge. It beats the largest pack on the board, 57,600 Gems for $39.99, by 39 percent per dollar. We track a dozen companion apps and keep a running note on which AI girlfriend apps meter you with tokens, and this is the first ladder we have measured that runs backwards.
The pack to avoid is the $4.99. It gives you 6,300 Gems. The $3.99 pack gives you 8,000. So spending a dollar more hands you 1,700 fewer Gems, at a rate 37 percent worse. We checked that against the live store listing twice before publishing it, because it inverts the way every other currency ladder in this category works. PolyBuzz coins and Opals and EVA AI Neurons both get cheaper per unit as the pack grows, which is the normal shape.
The $2.49 pack is the other one to skip. At 1,205 Gems per dollar it is the worst rate Swerve sells, and the $2.99 pack fifty cents above it delivers 2,500 more Gems.
So the practical rule is unglamorous and it is worth real money over a year: buy the $3.99 pack, repeatedly, and ignore the other seven. Someone spending $40 a year on Gems saves roughly $16 by doing that instead of buying the flagship pack, which is most of a month of Pro.
One caveat that no article can fix. Swerve publishes no per-action price list, so there is no honest way to convert a pack size into a number of messages or images. Anyone quoting you a per-message Gem rate is guessing.
Is there a Swerve AI app for Android?
No, and this is the single most-searched thing about the app. Google's autocomplete fills in "swerve ai android", "swerve ai apk" and "swerve ai download for android" before it fills in almost anything else, and none of those searches has a legitimate answer.
The vendor is unusually direct about it. The page at getswerve.com/android reads: "Swerve is coming to Android soon. Currently, Swerve is only available on iOS. There is no official Swerve Android app or APK yet. Any 'Swerve AI' app outside the Apple App Store is not from us and may be unsafe." The web page carries the matching warning about browser versions. A Google Play search returns no MSPW Labs package, and the obvious package names all return 404. All checked 3 September 2026.
Read their last sentence again, because it is the important one. An app that does not exist cannot have a legitimate APK, so every file currently being offered as a Swerve download was built by somebody who is not Swerve. Sideloading one means granting an unknown developer whatever permissions its manifest asks for, next to months of intimate chat logs. Companion apps are an unusually rich target for exactly that, and if you have already installed something like it, cleaning up afterward means getting your personal details pulled back off the data broker networks they tend to feed. Far easier not to start.
Swerve runs an email waitlist for Android and web with no published launch date. If you specifically want Swerve, that list is the only safe route. If you want to be chatting tonight on the phone you already own, you need something that runs in a browser, which is the whole reason we wrote up the Swerve AI alternatives that work on Android and the web.
Is Swerve AI Pro worth it?
It depends on whether Pro removes the Gem spending or merely discounts it, and Swerve does not publish enough for anyone to answer that honestly.
Here is what is knowable. Pro is $12.49, Lite is $3.99, and the $8.50 gap between them is the price of whatever Pro adds. Apple's listing names neither product's contents. Swerve's App Store description covers characters, personas, one-to-one and group chats and collaborative stories, with no tier breakdown anywhere. The only way to learn what your $12.49 buys is to reach the paywall inside the app and read it.
The detail that should make you cautious is structural rather than suspicious. Swerve keeps selling eight separate Gem packs to Pro subscribers. An app that does that is an app where the subscription is a floor, not a ceiling, and Swerve runs the largest currency ladder of any app we track. Our full comparison of what AI girlfriend apps cost puts that in context across twelve products.
Can you get a refund from Swerve AI?
No. Section 8 of Swerve's terms is a single sentence: "All sales are final and no refund will be issued." That covers Gem purchases as well as subscriptions, and the Gems are the part that stings, because a subscription at least stops when you cancel while an unused Gem balance simply sits there.
Cancellation runs entirely through Apple. Swerve's terms direct users to Apple ID subscription management in iOS Settings, and state that cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid term rather than immediately. In practice Apple will sometimes refund through reportaproblem.apple.com regardless of a developer's terms, because Apple is the merchant of record on iOS, but that is Apple's discretion and not a right Swerve grants you. Plan as though the money is gone once spent.
Weigh that against how new this app is. Swerve launched on 16 November 2025, which makes it nine months old, and it has already collected 26,537 US ratings at a 4.71 average. That is the highest average score of the twelve companion apps we track, ahead of far larger incumbents like PolyBuzz, which averages 4.45 across 469,000 ratings, and it is genuinely earned. It also means the pricing, the tiers and possibly the model itself are still moving, and a no-refund policy means every future change lands on you rather than being unwound.
So is Swerve AI worth it?
Worth it on an iPhone, at $3.99 for Lite, if what you want is a roster to browse and group scenes to run, and if you buy the $3.99 Gem pack and nothing else. The app is well built. A 4.71 average across 26,537 ratings in nine months does not happen by accident, and we are not going to talk you out of an app that people plainly like.
Not worth it if you are on Android, Windows or a Chromebook, because it does not exist there and the alternative being advertised to you is a stranger's APK. Not worth it if you want one companion who remembers your life across months instead of a cast of characters. And not worth it if a predictable bill matters to you, because the shape of this product is that the total is something you discover rather than something you agree to.
That last gap is what Tempted.ai was built for. Nine dollars a month, one plan, printed on the pricing page. No Gems, no packs, no tier you find out about at a paywall, and memory included rather than sold above you. She texts first instead of waiting for you to open the app, and it runs in any browser, on the Android phone Swerve will not support until some unannounced date. The demo chat at the top of this page is free to try right now.
Prices in this article come from the Apple App Store in-app purchase disclosure for Swerve - AI Chat (app 6754301136, MSPW Labs, Inc., rated 18+, version 1.30.0), the getswerve.com Android, Web and Terms pages, and a Google Play search for the developer, all read on 3 September 2026. Swerve publishes no prices on its own website, so confirm at the paywall before subscribing.
