How much does Swerve AI cost?

Swerve is free to download from the US App Store. Paying starts in one of two places: a subscription, or a pack of gems.

Apple’s listing for Swerve shows two subscription products, Pro at $12.49 and Swerve Lite at $3.99. It is worth being precise about what that listing does and does not say. It gives the price of each product and nothing else. Unlike Nomi, whose App Store products are named “Standard Plan Monthly” and “Standard Plan Yearly” so the billing period is unambiguous, Swerve names its products simply “Pro” and “Swerve Lite” with no period attached. Third-party reviews describe Pro as a monthly subscription, and that is almost certainly right, but the vendor has not put it in writing anywhere we can find.

At a monthly reading, Pro is $149.88 a year and Swerve Lite is $47.88. Swerve Lite is genuinely cheap, and cheaper than we are: $47.88 against $108 for a year of Tempted. If price is the only thing you are optimizing for and you own an iPhone, Swerve Lite wins that comparison and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise.

How much is Swerve AI Pro?

Swerve AI Pro is $12.49 on Apple’s US listing for the app, read on 6 September 2026. That is the most expensive of the ten in-app purchases Apple shows for Swerve, and the only one that behaves like a normal subscription rather than a one-off pack of currency.

What Pro actually removes is harder to state with confidence, because the vendor does not publish a feature comparison. Third-party reviews describe Pro as the way to stop managing gems by hand, which fits the shape of the product: if every message costs currency, the subscription is the thing you buy to stop thinking about currency. We are not going to list Pro’s features as fact when the company that sells it has not.

One number circulating for Pro is $11.99 rather than $12.49. It comes from a site that is not Swerve, and that matters enough to have its own section below.

Swerve gem prices, and why the biggest pack is the worst value

This is the part worth reading before you spend anything. Almost every app that sells currency prices it so that buying more saves you money. Swerve does the opposite.

Work out gems per dollar across the eight packs Apple lists and the ranking inverts. The 8,000 gem pack at $3.99 gives you 2,005 gems for every dollar. The 57,600 gem pack at $39.99, ten times the money, gives you 1,440. Buying the small pack gets you 39 percent more gems per dollar than buying the largest one on the shelf.

The sharper trap is a pair of packs sitting next to each other. The 6,300 gem pack costs $4.99. The 8,000 gem pack costs $3.99. Spend the extra dollar and you receive 1,700 fewer gems. There is no reading of that where the $4.99 pack is the right purchase, and it is the kind of thing you would only catch by putting the whole ladder in a spreadsheet, which is what the table below does.

One caveat, stated plainly: this is Apple’s list of in-app purchase products, and an app’s in-app store does not always display every product it has registered at the same time. Some of these may be promotional or legacy packs you will not be offered. What the list does show is how the products are priced relative to one another, and that relationship is not the one you would assume.

What is Swerve Lite, and who is it for?

Swerve Lite is the $3.99 subscription on Apple’s listing, sitting well below Pro at $12.49. The vendor publishes nothing about what separates them, so treat the name as the only clue you have: a lighter version of whatever Pro removes.

As a price it is one of the cheapest recurring options anywhere in this category. For comparison, Nomi’s cheapest listed subscription is its Launch Plan at $9.99, GirlfriendGPT starts at $15 a month, and PolyBuzz and Kindroid both sit higher. Only a handful of apps in the category have anything under five dollars a month at all.

The honest caveat is that a cheap subscription on a gem-metered app is not the same as a cheap month. If Lite still leaves you buying gems to keep a conversation going, the $3.99 is a floor rather than a ceiling, and your real monthly spend is $3.99 plus however many packs you bought. That is exactly the shape of cost that makes flat pricing easier to budget, and it is the reason we sell one plan at one price.

Swerve publishes no prices on its own website

We checked getswerve.com on 6 September 2026. It is a short site: a description of the app, a support address, a privacy policy, terms, a safety center, an age gate at 18, and sign-up forms for Android and Web notifications. There is no pricing page, no plan comparison and no dollar figure anywhere on it.

That leaves Apple’s App Store listing as the only first-party place a US buyer can read what Swerve charges. It is a real source and we have used it, but it is a thin one: it gives prices without billing periods, without feature lists and without telling you what a gem buys.

This keeps happening in this category. Nomi’s /pricing and /faq URLs both return a not found page, and GirlfriendGPT’s FAQ tells you twice to visit a plans page that has never existed. Three of the fastest-growing companion apps in the US have decided that the price is something you discover after you are already inside the product. Ours is on the page.

There is a Swerve lookalike site, and its prices are different

While checking prices we found a site at swerveai.app presenting itself as Swerve on the web, with a full character catalogue and its own pricing built in. Its numbers do not match Apple’s. It shows Pro at $11.99 rather than $12.49, offers a 150-unit starter pack at $0.99 that Apple does not list, and calls the in-app currency credits, while the real app calls it gems.

Apple’s listing for Swerve links exactly one developer website, and it is getswerve.com. That site states in its own words: “getswerve.com is the only official Swerve AI website,” and separately, “The only official Swerve AI app, free on the App Store.” A vendor does not write those sentences unless it has a lookalike problem.

The practical advice is short. If you are about to pay for Swerve, check that the domain taking your card is the one Apple links, or buy through the App Store where the charge appears on your Apple bill and Apple’s refund process applies. Prices that differ from the vendor’s own store listing are the tell.

Swerve is iOS only, so on Android or a PC you cannot buy it

getswerve.com is direct about this: “Swerve is iOS only today.” Android and Web are listed as coming soon, each with an email form to be notified at launch, and no date attached to either.

That is the single biggest thing to know before you spend time comparing gem packs, because for a large share of American buyers the pricing question never arises. Search autocomplete around Swerve is dominated by it, with people asking when Swerve will be available on Android, when it will be on the web, and what the Android release date is. There is no answer to give them.

It also explains the state of Swerve’s search results. With no legitimate Android build, the gap has filled with modded APK pages promising unlimited gems and lifetime Pro. Those are not Swerve, they are not free gems, and installing a modified APK to save $12.49 is a poor trade with your phone. If you are on Android and want a companion that texts back today, you need something that runs in a browser.

Swerve against a flat monthly price, honestly

Swerve does things well. It is the fastest-growing app in this category right now, its US App Store rating sits at 4.72 across nearly 27,000 ratings, which is higher than PolyBuzz, Chai, Character.AI and Replika, and it is run by a US company, MSPW Labs, Inc. If you own an iPhone and you want the app people are currently rating highest, that is a real argument.

Where it costs you is predictability. Two subscriptions with undocumented differences, eight gem packs whose value per dollar runs backwards, no published feature list and no prices on the vendor’s own site add up to a product where you cannot work out next month’s bill before you commit. Some people genuinely do not mind that, and pay-as-you-go suits light use.
