Cancel Kindroid subscription and Kindroid AI subscription on web, iPhone and Android

Most people land here a day or two after a renewal they did not plan for, or the night before a 3-day trial turns into a paid month. Both are fixable, but Kindroid's billing has one trap that catches people who think they are done after a single tap.

The short answer

You cancel a Kindroid subscription where you bought it. Bought on kindroid.ai, go to Profile, then Billing, then Kindroid Standard Subscription, then Manage. Bought on an iPhone, cancel in Settings under your Apple ID and Subscriptions. Bought on Android, cancel in the Play Store under Subscriptions. Ultra and MAX are separate subscriptions with their own entries in Billing, so cancel them first: Kindroid's own docs say that if the standard plan lapses, the account goes read-only even while Ultra or MAX is still active and still billing. Deleting your account does not cancel anything, and Kindroid says it generally does not refund. Tempted.ai is a flat plan from $9 a month with no add-on tiers to unwind.

One charge you can read

How do I cancel my Kindroid subscription?

You cancel in the same place you paid, and Kindroid supports three different places.

If you subscribed on the web at kindroid.ai, open Profile, then Billing, then Kindroid Standard Subscription, then Manage. That is the exact path in Kindroid's subscription docs. Web subscriptions cost $13.99 a month, $139.99 a year, and they are the only ones Kindroid itself can stop.

If you subscribed inside the iPhone app, Kindroid cannot cancel it for you. Open the Settings app, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, choose Kindroid and tap Cancel Subscription. Apple's US listing prices the in-app plan at $15.99 a month, $42.99 for three months and $159.99 a year, so if you see those numbers on your statement, this is your route.

If you subscribed on Android, open the Play Store, tap your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, pick Kindroid and cancel.

Not sure which one you have? Profile, then Billing inside Kindroid shows where the subscription came from, including when it was a gift.

  • Web: Profile, Billing, Kindroid Standard Subscription, Manage
  • iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Kindroid, Cancel Subscription
  • Android: Play Store, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions, Kindroid
  • Billing inside the app tells you which store you paid through

Cancel Kindroid Ultra and MAX first, or you keep paying for nothing

This is the part almost nobody explains. Ultra and MAX are not upgrades that replace the standard plan. They are separate subscriptions stacked on top of it, and Kindroid says in its docs that they are canceled separately, under their own entries in Billing.

The order matters for two reasons, both written in Kindroid's own documentation. First, if the standard subscription lapses, your account becomes read-only regardless of Ultra or MAX being active. So if you cancel only the base plan, Ultra and MAX can keep renewing while you can no longer chat. Second, if you cancel a lower tier and keep a higher one, you keep paying for the higher one while your service drops. Kindroid's example is canceling Ultra while on MAX: you still pay for MAX but get Ultra-level service, and the app shows a warning that says MAX requires Ultra.

On the web a fully loaded account is three bills: $13.99 standard, $24.99 Ultra, $59.99 MAX, $98.97 a month together. Cancel from the top down. MAX, then Ultra, then the standard plan. Then reopen Billing and confirm every entry shows as canceled.

  • Ultra and MAX are separate subscriptions with their own Manage entries
  • Standard lapses first: account goes read-only while Ultra and MAX can keep billing
  • Cancel Ultra but keep MAX: you keep paying for MAX at Ultra service
  • Cancel order that avoids both traps: MAX, then Ultra, then standard

How to cancel the Kindroid free trial before it charges

New Kindroid accounts get a 3-day premium trial, and it is not a no-card trial. Kindroid's docs say the trial requires a payment method on file and converts into a paid subscription automatically if you do not cancel within the trial period.

You cancel the trial exactly like a subscription, in the store you started it from. Do it on day two rather than day three. Apple and Google both charge at the renewal time, not at the end of your calendar day, and a cancel that lands an hour late is a paid month.

Canceling the trial does not delete anything. Your Kindroids, chats and memories stay, read-only. One thing does not come back: Kindroid says starting a trial ends the free preview permanently, so after a canceled trial there is no free chatting left on that account.

  • 3 days, payment method required
  • Converts to paid automatically if not canceled
  • Cancel on day two, not day three
  • The free preview does not return after a trial or subscription

Does deleting Kindroid cancel the subscription?

No. Kindroid's FAQ says it directly: deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Subscription status, currency counts and other logistical data are kept after deletion to prevent abuse, and the store keeps charging until you cancel the subscription itself.

Deleting the app from your phone does nothing to billing either. The order that works is cancel first, wait for the period to run out if you want to keep reading your chats, then delete. Kindroid also notes that the last Kindroid on an account is scheduled for deletion over 24 hours rather than removed instantly, and that recreating an account with the same email brings back earlier in-app purchases.

  • Deleting the account does not stop billing
  • Deleting the app does not stop billing
  • Cancel the subscription first, delete second
  • Purchases reappear if you sign up again with the same email

Can you get a Kindroid refund?

Rarely, from Kindroid directly. Its subscription docs say refunds are considered case by case, that it generally does not offer refunds and all sales are final, and that it reserves the right to permanently ban users who dispute charges. Suspended or terminated accounts get no refund for unused time.

If you paid through Apple or Google, the refund decision belongs to the store, not to Kindroid. Request it at reportaproblem.apple.com for iPhone purchases, or from your Google Play order history for Android. Those are the stores' own processes and they do not trigger the ban Kindroid describes for card chargebacks.

For web purchases the only route is Kindroid support. Be specific: the charge date, the amount, and when you canceled. A chargeback through your bank is the option Kindroid explicitly warns against.

  • Kindroid: generally no refunds, case by case
  • Disputing a charge can get the account permanently banned
  • Apple purchases: request at reportaproblem.apple.com
  • Google Play purchases: request from your order history

What happens to your Kindroid after you cancel

Your paid time runs to the end of the period you already paid for. After that, Kindroid says the account becomes read-only: you can view, play back, export and delete everything, and your Kindroids, memories, chats, media and balances are kept. Nothing is wiped by canceling.

That makes canceling low risk if you might come back, and it means you can export your chats before deciding whether to delete. If you resubscribe later, everything is where you left it.

One restriction worth knowing before you pick a new plan elsewhere: Kindroid says you cannot move a subscription between iOS, Android and the web until the current one runs out. If you plan to come back on the cheaper web price, let the in-app plan expire first, then subscribe on the web.

  • Access continues to the end of the paid period
  • Then read-only, with chats, memories and media kept
  • Export works after canceling
  • Switching between iOS, Android and web waits for the current plan to expire

If you are leaving because of the bill

Most people who cancel Kindroid are not unhappy with the companion. They are unhappy with the shape of the bill: a standard plan, then Ultra and MAX for more memory, then selfie credits, audio credits and extra slots, each sold separately on Apple's listing.

Tempted.ai is built the other way round. One girlfriend who texts you, remembers what you told her, and keeps it tasteful, on a flat plan from $9 a month billed yearly. Memory is included on the base plan. There are no credits to top up and no second subscription that has to be canceled before the first. The demo at the top of this page is free to try, no card required.

  • Flat plan from $9 a month billed yearly
  • Memory included, no Ultra or MAX tier
  • No credits, slots or packs

Questions about Cancel Kindroid

Cancel where you paid. On the web, go to Profile, then Billing, then Kindroid Standard Subscription, then Manage. On an iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Kindroid. On Android, use the Play Store under Payments and subscriptions. Cancel Ultra and MAX separately first, because they are their own subscriptions.
Cancel it the same way as a subscription, in the store or web account you started it from, ideally on day two. Kindroid's 3-day trial requires a payment method and converts into a paid subscription automatically if it is not canceled within the trial period. Your chats are kept read-only afterward.
No. Kindroid's FAQ states that deleting your account does not cancel your subscription, and uninstalling the app does not either. Cancel the subscription in Billing, the App Store or Google Play first. Kindroid keeps subscription status and currency counts after deletion, and the store keeps charging until the subscription itself is canceled.
Usually not from Kindroid. Its docs say refunds are case by case, sales are generally final, and users who dispute charges can be permanently banned. If you paid through Apple or Google, ask the store instead, at reportaproblem.apple.com or through your Google Play order history, since they decide refunds for in-app purchases.
Usually because Ultra or MAX is still active. They are separate subscriptions with their own entries in Billing, and canceling the standard plan does not cancel them. Kindroid's docs also say canceling Ultra while keeping MAX leaves you paying for MAX at Ultra service. Open Billing and cancel every entry, top tier first.
You keep access until the paid period ends. Then the account becomes read-only: you can view, play back, export and delete everything, and Kindroid keeps your companions, memories, chats and media. Resubscribing restores chatting. The free preview does not come back once you have had a trial or subscription.
Not mid-plan. Kindroid says you cannot move a subscription between iOS, Android and the web until the current one runs out. Cancel the in-app plan, let it expire, then subscribe on the web, where the standard plan is $13.99 a month rather than $15.99 in-app.
Kindroid costs $13.99 a month on the web or $15.99 a month in the iPhone app for the standard plan. Ultra adds $24.99 on the web and MAX adds $59.99 more, so a fully loaded web account is $98.97 a month. Selfie credits, audio credits and extra slots are sold separately.
