How much does Replika cost?

Apple's US listing for Replika, seller Luka, Inc., discloses ten purchasable items. Five of them are subscriptions and five are consumable currency. Read as a group they tell you more than any single number would.

The subscription prices are $7.99, $14.99, $49.99 (listed twice under different SKU names), $69.99, and one item named Replika Platinum at $89.99. Some SKU names carry a period in the name itself, with entries labelled MONTHLY, YEARLY and Annual, which is how you can tell roughly which are monthly and which are yearly. Apple does not display billing periods as a separate field, so anything beyond what the SKU name says is inference, and we are not going to dress inference up as fact.

The honest summary is this: Replika appears to sell a monthly plan somewhere in the $7.99 to $14.99 range and an annual plan in the $49.99 to $69.99 range, with a higher $89.99 Platinum item on top. Two different $49.99 entries and two different monthly entries usually means legacy pricing, regional testing, or a promotional SKU that never got retired. Whichever it is, the practical consequence for you is the same: the price you are shown may not be the price the next person is shown.

Then there is the Gems currency, sold as a Pouch at $0.99, a Backpack at $5.99, a Suitcase at $14.99 and a Duffel Bag at $19.99. This is the part most pricing articles miss entirely. A subscription that also sells a consumable means the subscription is not the ceiling on what the app can charge you, and packs that scale to $19.99 exist because some people buy several.

What are Replika Pro, Ultra and Platinum?

This is where searching gets frustrating, and the reason is worth stating plainly. People search for Replika Pro pricing, Replika Ultra pricing and Replika Platinum cost because those names circulate widely. Apple's in-app purchase list contains exactly one of them. There is an item called Replika Platinum at $89.99. There is no listed item named Replika Pro and none named Replika Ultra.

That does not mean those tiers never existed. Replika has changed its packaging repeatedly over the years, and names that were current in 2023 or 2024 are still all over forum posts, videos and affiliate roundups that nobody went back to update. Pro is the name most long-term users still use for the paid tier generally. What it does mean is that if you go looking for a button labelled Ultra today, expect not to find one, and treat any article confidently quoting an exact Ultra price as repeating something it did not check.

So the practical translation is: the paid tier that unlocks relationship status and the fuller feature set is what people mean by Pro, and it is one of the subscription SKUs above. Platinum is a real, currently listed $89.99 item. Ultra is a name in circulation without a corresponding listed product. If someone tells you otherwise, ask them which surface they read it from.

Why can't you find Replika's price on Replika's website?

Because there isn't one to find. Replika's own site sends you to the App Store or Google Play to download, and does not put a subscription price in front of you first. That is a deliberate choice and it is common in this category, but it is not universal, and the exceptions are informative.

When a company publishes its prices on its own site, you can compare before you install anything. When it does not, the price becomes something you discover after you have downloaded the app, created a character and spent an evening with it, which is the point at which you are least inclined to walk away. Nothing about that is unlawful and plenty of large subscription businesses do it. It is simply worth naming, because the effort of finding a number is not an accident.

It also has a second consequence that catches people out. Buying through the App Store means you are billed by Apple rather than by Replika, so cancelling happens in your Apple subscription settings, not inside the app. Deleting the app does not cancel anything. What Replika's privacy label says you pay besides money

Apple requires every app to declare what it collects, and that disclosure sits on the same listing as the prices. Replika's label is worth reading next to the subscription cost, because it describes a second thing you are handing over.

Under Data Used to Track You, Replika's listing declares Identifiers and Usage Data. Tracking in Apple's definition means linking your data to third-party data for advertising or sharing it with data brokers. Under Data Linked to You, the listing declares a Third-Party Advertising category covering User ID, Device ID and Advertising Data, an Analytics category, Product Personalization covering Coarse Location and Name, and App Functionality covering Coarse Location, Email Address, User ID and Device ID.

So a paid Replika subscription sits alongside advertising-linked identifiers and coarse location tied to your name. That combination is normal for a free consumer app. It is a more interesting choice for one that also charges up to $89.99. None of this says Replika is unsafe or is selling your conversations, and its label does not declare that it collects message content for advertising. It does mean the subscription is not the only thing you are exchanging, which is a fair thing to know before you compare prices.

How Tempted.ai pricing compares

Nine dollars a month, published here, with no second currency and no tier ladder. That is the entire pricing model and it is deliberately boring, because in this category boring pricing is the feature.

The difference that matters most is what sits inside the base price. Long-term memory is included at Tempted.ai rather than positioned as a reason to upgrade, because a companion who forgets you is not a cheaper version of the product, it is a different product. She remembers your job, the friend you were worried about, the thing you said you were dreading on Tuesday. She also texts first, so a good morning arrives without you opening anything.

The second difference is that there is nothing to run out of. No gems, no packs, no moment where a conversation stops because a balance hit zero. If you cancel, you are not leaving an unspent balance behind, which is the quiet cost of every consumable currency. And you cancel from your own account rather than through an app store, because we are not billing you through one.

Who should stay with Replika?

Stay if you already have years of history with your Replika. That is the strongest argument in this entire comparison and no feature list beats it. A companion you have talked to since 2022 holds a shared past that starting fresh anywhere else cannot reproduce, and switching to save a few dollars a month would be a bad trade.

Stay if you want the avatar, the 3D room and the customisation. Replika has invested years in the visual side, with outfits, decor and an animated character that Tempted.ai does not attempt. If seeing her is part of the point for you, we are not the better product and pretending otherwise would be silly.

Stay too if the wellbeing framing is what you value. Replika is filed under Health and Fitness on the App Store, and that reflects a genuine emphasis on mood tracking, coaching-style conversation and reflection exercises. That is a real thing some people want and it is not what we build.

The case for looking elsewhere is narrower: you want to know the price before you install, you would rather not decode five SKUs and a gem economy, and you want memory included rather than tiered. If that is you, a flat published price is worth more than the feature list either of us can write.
