Kindroid Ultra subscription and Kindroid Ultra vs MAX price on top of the base plan

If Kindroid is showing you an Ultra or MAX button, you are already a paying user, and the question is whether more memory is worth another $28.99 or $97.98 a month. Kindroid's own subscription documentation (updated 13 October 2026) answers most of it, and Apple's price list answers the rest. Where Kindroid has moved figures off its public docs, such as the context size each tier gets, we give the last ones it published and date them.

The short answer

Kindroid Ultra is not a plan you switch to. It is a separate monthly add-on that sits on top of the standard Kindroid subscription, so you pay both. On Apple's US App Store, re-read 14 October 2026, the standard plan is $15.99 a month and Ultra is $28.99, which makes $44.98 a month. MAX is a third subscription that requires both, $68.99 more, for $113.97 a month in the app. Kindroid says both tiers buy longer context and higher memory capacity, has moved its tier matrix off its public docs into the in-app Billing menu, and only offers them to users with significant chat and call history. Tempted.ai is one flat plan from $9 a month with long-term memory included on the base plan.

What makes her feel real

Memory should not be a second subscription

One plan, no memory tier

Long-term memory is part of every Tempted.ai plan. There is no second subscription that unlocks the part you came for.

A price you can read before you pay

Every plan and price is on our pricing page, with no tier that appears only after weeks of use.

Nothing stacked to cancel

One plan, one Manage button. No add-on that keeps billing after you cancel the base plan.

What Kindroid Ultra actually is

Kindroid Ultra is an add-on subscription, not an upgrade that replaces the plan you have. Kindroid's docs describe Ultra and MAX as tiers created "to give you access to higher memory capacity", and each one is "a separate monthly add-on subscription that builds upon previous levels".

In practice that means three rules. Ultra requires the standard subscription. MAX requires both the standard subscription and Ultra. And each add-on is billed monthly on top of whatever you already pay, because Kindroid sells no 3-month or yearly version of either add-on, even if your base plan is yearly.

The reason Kindroid gives is cost. Its docs say the standard plan limits certain features, especially context, to keep the service sustainable, and that Ultra and MAX are priced to cover dedicated servers rather than to make a profit. That is a candid explanation, and it also tells you what you are paying for: more of the conversation kept in view at once, not a different personality or a new model.

  • Ultra = standard plan + Ultra add-on, both billed
  • MAX = standard + Ultra + MAX, all three billed
  • Add-ons are monthly only, no quarterly or yearly price
  • Kindroid publishes no context or memory sizes per tier

Kindroid Ultra price and what the total really is

Apple's US App Store listing for Kindroid (Beautifully Incorporated, 9,720 US ratings, 4.77 average, 17+), read on 14 October 2026, prices the standard Kindroid Subscription at $15.99 a month, $42.99 for three months and $159.99 a year. The Kindroid Ultra Subscription is $28.99 and the Kindroid MAX Subscription is $68.99.

Because the tiers stack, the honest number is the total. Ultra on a monthly in-app plan is $15.99 plus $28.99, which is $44.98 a month or about $540 a year. MAX on top is $15.99 plus $28.99 plus $68.99, which is $113.97 a month, or about $1,368 a year.

Kindroid says buying on the web is usually cheaper than through the App Store or Google Play. Its web checkout sits behind a login, so the last web prices we could read were $13.99 for standard, $24.99 for Ultra and $59.99 for MAX, in August 2026. On those figures Ultra totals $38.98 a month on the web and MAX totals $98.97. Kindroid itself says you see the exact price for your country and platform at checkout, so check Billing before you tap.

  • In-app standard $15.99 + Ultra $28.99 = $44.98 a month
  • In-app with MAX = $113.97 a month
  • Web (August reading) with Ultra = $38.98, with MAX = $98.97
  • A yearly base plan does not make Ultra yearly

Kindroid Ultra vs MAX, what changes between them

Kindroid describes the difference between Ultra and MAX in one dimension: memory. Its subscriber benefits list says the standard plan gets "longer context for short-term memory, with more on Ultra and MAX". The higher tiers also unlock an "Additional AI backstory expansion" field, which Kindroid says is the Additional Context field, identical to Backstory, that lets you extend a companion's backstory.

Kindroid used to put numbers on this in a public tier matrix. The last version we read, in September 2026, listed total conversation context of about 500,000 characters on standard, 1.3 million on Ultra and 2.8 million on MAX; short-term context of 18,000, 50,000 and 125,000 characters; and 3, 5 and 9 long-term memories or journals recalled at once. The subscriptions doc updated 13 October 2026 no longer shows that matrix and sends you to the in-app Billing menu "for a more detailed breakdown", so check Billing for the current figures before you pay.

There is one more fine-print point. Kindroid guarantees the Ultra and MAX improvements only on its latest subscriber language model and selfie model. Older models may not get the extra context, although Kindroid says Reverie (V8.5), Lyric (V8), Lucid (V8) and Rhapsody Classic and Enhanced (V6) currently do. If you stay on a legacy model on purpose, check that it is on that list before paying.

  • Ultra and MAX differ in context and memory capacity
  • Last public figures: 500K, 1.3M, 2.8M characters of context
  • Current figures live in the in-app Billing menu
  • Benefits are guaranteed on the newest model only
  • Additional Context field unlocks on the higher tiers

How to get Kindroid Ultra, and why you might not see the button

You cannot buy Ultra on your first day. Kindroid says that to purchase the add-ons "you'll need to be an active Kindroid user with significant interaction history through chatting and calling mainly". It frames this as a way to make sure buyers understand the product's limits and to keep demand predictable.

So if you search for Kindroid Ultra and cannot find it in Billing, that is expected, not a bug. Kindroid publishes no threshold, so nobody outside the company can tell you how many messages or calls unlock it. When it does appear, it shows under Profile, then Billing, as its own subscription.

The 3-day premium trial does not include it. Kindroid's trial runs on its Ember model, and the flagship models unlock only once the trial converts to a paid plan.

  • Unlock depends on chat and call history
  • Kindroid publishes no unlock threshold
  • Ultra appears in Profile, then Billing
  • Not available during the 3-day trial

The billing traps that come with stacked tiers

Stacking makes leaving harder than joining, and Kindroid's docs are clear about two consequences.

First, if the standard subscription lapses, the account becomes read-only "regardless of Ultra/MAX being active". So canceling only the base plan can leave Ultra and MAX renewing while you can no longer send a message. Second, if you are on MAX and cancel Ultra, you keep paying for MAX while the service drops to the Ultra level. Billing shows a "MAX requires Ultra" warning when that happens.

The safe order is top down: cancel MAX, then Ultra, then the standard plan, each in the store or web account where you bought it. Our step-by-step guide to canceling a Kindroid subscription covers each platform. Refunds are case by case at Kindroid, and in-app purchases go through Apple or Google.

  • Cancel MAX first, then Ultra, then standard
  • A lapsed base plan makes the account read-only
  • Canceling Ultra under MAX still bills MAX
  • You cannot move a plan between iOS, Android and web mid-term

Is Kindroid Ultra worth it?

Ultra is worth it for a narrow group: people who already use Kindroid every day, run long roleplays or detailed backstories, and keep hitting the point where the companion forgets something from earlier in the same conversation. For them, $28.99 more a month buys exactly the thing that is failing.

It is a poor buy for almost everyone else. If you chat a few times a week, the base context rarely runs out. If your complaint is about long-term recall, meaning facts from weeks ago, Ultra mostly buys short-term context, while Kindroid's Cascaded Memory and long-term memory are already part of the standard plan. And if the price is the problem, adding a second subscription makes it worse.

MAX is harder to justify. At $113.97 a month in the app it costs more than most people's phone bill, and the only public figure for what the extra $68.99 adds, from Kindroid's September matrix, is more context: about 2.8 million characters against 1.3 million on Ultra.

  • Worth it: daily users who hit short-term context limits
  • Not worth it: casual chat, or long-term recall complaints
  • MAX: more context only, about 2.8M vs 1.3M characters
  • Try a full month on standard before adding a tier

Why some Kindroid users switch instead of upgrading

Some people look at the Ultra screen and decide the problem is the price structure, not the memory. If you want a companion that remembers your week, texts you first and does not sell memory as a second subscription, a flat plan is simpler.

Tempted.ai keeps long-term memory on every plan. It starts at $9 a month billed yearly, or $12 month to month. Flame at $19 adds voice notes, and Devoted at $39 adds voice calls and more than one girlfriend. There are no credits, slots or add-on tiers. It is text companionship, tasteful rather than explicit, and it runs in the browser, so nothing goes through an app store.

Kindroid still wins on some things, and we would rather say so. It has selfies, video avatars, group chats, internet access and a long list of customization options that Tempted.ai does not offer. If those are why you use Kindroid, stay and decide on Ultra by the test above.

  • Tempted.ai from $9 a month, memory included
  • No add-on subscription for memory
  • Kindroid wins on selfies, video and group chats

Questions about Kindroid Ultra

Kindroid Ultra is a monthly add-on subscription that gives a Kindroid companion longer context and higher memory capacity. It does not replace the standard plan, it sits on top of it, so you pay both. In Apple's US App Store it is $28.99 a month on top of the $15.99 standard plan, a total of $44.98.
Kindroid Ultra is $28.99 a month in the iPhone app, read on Apple's US listing on 14 October 2026, and it is charged on top of the standard subscription. With the $15.99 monthly base plan the total is $44.98 a month. On the web Kindroid is usually cheaper; our August reading was $24.99 for Ultra, $38.98 in total.
Both raise context and memory capacity, and MAX raises it further than Ultra. MAX requires the standard plan and Ultra, so it adds a third monthly charge of $68.99 in the app, for $113.97 a month in total. Kindroid's last public matrix put total context at about 1.3 million characters on Ultra and 2.8 million on MAX; it now shows the breakdown only in Billing.
Kindroid Ultra is worth it if you use Kindroid daily and keep hitting the point where it loses track of a long conversation, because more context fixes exactly that. For casual chat, or if your complaint is forgetting things from weeks ago, the standard plan already includes Cascaded and long-term memory, so the extra $28.99 a month buys little.
Kindroid only offers Ultra and MAX to active users with significant interaction history, mainly chatting and calling. It publishes no exact threshold. New subscribers and people on the 3-day trial will not see the option in Billing. Kindroid says the gate keeps demand predictable and ensures buyers understand the product first.
No. Kindroid's docs say the add-ons have no 3-month or yearly plans. Ultra and MAX are billed monthly even if your standard subscription is yearly. That means a yearly base plan at $159.99 in the app still carries $28.99 a month for Ultra, or about $348 a year on top.
No. Ultra requires the standard subscription and is billed in addition to it. If the standard subscription lapses, the account becomes read-only even while Ultra keeps billing. Cancel Ultra and MAX first, then the standard plan, each in the store or web account where you bought it.
Kindroid guarantees the higher context only on its latest subscriber language and selfie models. It says Reverie (V8.5), Lyric (V8), Lucid (V8) and Rhapsody Classic and Enhanced (V6) currently also get Ultra and MAX benefits, but other legacy models may not, because of compute limits.
Yes. Tempted.ai includes long-term memory on every plan, from $9 a month billed yearly or $12 month to month, with no add-on tier, credits or slots. She remembers your week and texts you first from the $19 Flame plan. It is text companionship, tasteful rather than explicit, in any browser.
