A swipe is the button you press when a reply lands badly and you want a different one, and free accounts get a daily allowance of them. Run out and the app says so in as many words: "You've used up all of your Swipes for today," followed by an instruction to unlock more with Charms or upgrade to c.ai+ for unlimited swipes.

The nuance that matters is what they touch: selfies, art, video, group chat rooms and extra companion slots, never text conversation, and only after a daily allowance runs out. How to spot a coin meter before you pay

You do not have to subscribe to find out. The store listing declares every purchasable item, and the vendor does not control its format, which makes it the most reliable source in this category. Do this in about three minutes.

1. Open the App Store or Google Play listing and find the in-app purchases section.
2. Split what you see into two buckets: subscriptions (anything with weekly, monthly, or annual in the name) and currency (anything sold in quantities, like "1000 Coins" or "500 Neurons").
3. If the currency bucket is empty, the app has no coin meter. If it holds even one pack, the experience is at least partly metered.
4. Check the largest currency pack. A top pack of $50 or $99.99 tells you the app expects heavy spenders and is tuned for it.
5. Read the vendor's plan page for one thing: which tier includes long-term memory. If memory sits two tiers above the entry price, the cheap plan is not the real price.
