AI Girlfriend Apps With Lifetime Plans in 2026
No major AI girlfriend app sells a lifetime plan any more. We checked the US App Store listings for Replika, Character.AI, PolyBuzz, Chai and Kindroid on 8 September 2026 and found no one-time purchase on any of them. Replika was the last, sold only on its own website, and it was withdrawn during 2025. Here is what each app actually charges, what the breakeven math on a lifetime plan really looks like, and why the word now mostly turns up on modded APK pages.

No major AI girlfriend app sells a lifetime plan today. We checked the US App Store listings for Replika, Character.AI, PolyBuzz, Chai and Kindroid on 8 September 2026, and read replika.com directly, and there is no one-time purchase on any of them. Replika was the last big app to offer one, sold only through its own website, and it was withdrawn for new customers during 2025. Everything in this category now bills monthly or yearly, usually with an in-app currency stacked on top. If you came looking for a lifetime plan because you wanted a fixed cost you could stop thinking about, the closest thing available is a single flat monthly price with no currency.
Which AI girlfriend apps sell lifetime plans right now?
None of the ones people actually use. That is a short answer for a question that gets asked a lot, so here is the working behind it.
App Store listings print the dollar price of every in-app purchase a developer configures, without an account or an install, which makes them the fastest way to check what a company really sells. We pulled the listings for the five largest companion apps in the US and searched every one of them for a lifetime product. There were none.
| App | US ratings | What it actually sells | Lifetime plan? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Character.AI | 556,229 | Character.AI+ at $9.99 a month or $94.99 a year, a Lite tier, and six Charms packs from $0.99 to $99.99 | No |
| PolyBuzz | 471,516 | Subscriptions plus a coin currency | No |
| Chai | 275,861 | Subscription tiers plus message limits | No |
| Replika | 228,000 | Monthly at $7.99 and $14.99, annual at $49.99 and $69.99, a $89.99 Platinum item, four Gems packs | No, withdrawn in 2025 |
| Kindroid | 8,369 | $15.99 a month, $42.99 for three months, $159.99 a year, Ultra at $28.99, MAX at $68.99, plus credit packs | No |
| Tempted.ai | n/a | One plan at $9 a month, no currency | No, and we do not claim one |
Ratings counts and in-app purchase prices were read from Apple's US App Store listings on 8 September 2026. Apple shows the ten most popular in-app purchases per app, so a listing is not always a complete catalog, but a lifetime product priced in the hundreds of dollars would sit near the top of that ranking if it existed and was selling.
Replika had one, and it is the reason people still search for this
Replika's Lifetime subscription was a genuine one-time purchase that unlocked the premium features permanently. The detail that trips people up is that it was sold exclusively through replika.com, never as an in-app purchase, so it left no trace on any store listing that you could go back and check.
It was withdrawn during 2025 without a formal announcement. Long-time users noticed the option had disappeared and wrote it up; the company left the help center article explaining what a Lifetime subscription is sitting in place, which is why new buyers keep finding documentation for something they cannot purchase. Independent reports put the last price around $299.99, though Replika has never published that figure and its own site now carries no prices at all. We keep the full breakdown, including what happened to existing lifetime holders when new tiers arrived, on our page about the Replika lifetime subscription.
Existing holders were not cut off, which matters. What they did not get automatically was every tier Replika built afterward, and that gap is the whole argument against lifetime plans in a category that changes this fast.
When you do see "lifetime" advertised, look twice
The word has not disappeared from search results, it has just moved somewhere worse. Two places it still turns up, neither of them a real offer:
- Modded APK pages. Search almost any companion app plus "lifetime" and you will find sites promising unlimited currency and lifetime Pro in a modified Android package. These are not the vendor, the accounts get banned, and you are installing an unsigned build on the phone you bank with to save a subscription fee.
- Lookalike web apps. Some of these apps have unofficial sites running a full clone of the product with their own checkout and their own prices. The tell is simple: check the domain against the "Developer Website" link on the app's own store listing. If it does not match, the money is not going to the company you think it is.
A real lifetime offer from a real company would appear on the company's own site, on the same page as its other prices. If you can only find it on a third-party page, it is not an offer, it is bait.
What a lifetime plan actually has to be worth
The arithmetic is genuinely attractive, which is why the idea is appealing. At a reported $299.99, a lifetime plan pays for itself against a $14.99 monthly subscription in about 20 months. Against $7.99 a month it takes 38 months. Against a $9 a month plan it is 33 months.
So the question is never really about the money. It is whether the app will still be the app you bought in about three years, and this category does not have a good record on that. In the past three years one major app removed its romantic features and then partially restored them, another was pulled from the US App Store entirely, and several rebuilt their underlying models in ways that changed the daily experience for everyone using them. Three years is a long time here.
There is also a quieter cost that people miss. Paying once removes the monthly moment where you notice the charge and ask whether you still want it. That is worth something. If you already find it hard to keep track of what your recurring app charges add up to across a year, the fix is usually seeing every recurring charge in one place rather than converting one of them into a lump sum you stop thinking about.
What to buy instead, honestly
If a specific app is the one you want, buy its annual plan rather than waiting for a lifetime option that is not coming back. Annual gets you most of what made lifetime appealing, a lower effective monthly rate and only one billing event a year, while keeping the ability to leave. Replika's cheapest recurring route is its $49.99 annual product; Character.AI+ is $94.99 a year. We break down the whole category's rates on our AI girlfriend app cost comparison, and the tier ladder specifically on Replika pricing.
If what you actually wanted was predictability rather than a bargain, the thing to look for is not a lifetime plan but a flat one: a single published price, no tier ladder, and no currency metering your conversations. That last part matters more than the headline number. An app at $9.99 a month that charges you coins per message can easily cost more than one at $15.99 that does not, and the ones with the most complicated currencies are usually the ones that will not put a price on their own website. Kindroid is a useful example of how quickly it stacks up once credits are involved, which we cover on Kindroid pricing.
Tempted.ai is $9 a month, one plan, memory included rather than sold as an upgrade, and it runs in any browser on Android, iPhone, Mac or PC. There is no lifetime option here either, and we are not going to invent one. A lifetime promise is a promise about a product that does not exist yet, and Replika's is the cautionary tale for what happens when the roadmap outruns the pledge. What we will do instead is publish the price and keep it in one place.
