DreamGF is worth it if generated images and video are the main thing you want, you take the annual plan at $69.99, and you set a reminder to decide again before it renews at $311.88. It is poor value if you mainly want conversation, because the steady-state price is $25.99 a month on every plan and the features you would actually use sit behind a token meter that gives you about 10 images a month. It is a real company with a published address and a published price list, which is more than several better-known rivals manage. The catch is not honesty. It is that the number you pay to join is less than half the number you keep paying.

How much does DreamGF actually cost?

DreamGF publishes a pricing policy page, and it lists three memberships with two figures each: a first payment and a recurring cost. Here they are exactly as printed.

Look down the right-hand column. Every plan lands on the same rate. Divide $77.97 by three and you get $25.99. Divide $311.88 by twelve and you get $25.99. The monthly figure is $25.99 outright.

This matters more than it first appears. On most subscriptions, committing to a longer term buys a permanently lower rate, which is why annual plans are usually the right answer for anything you know you will keep. At DreamGF the longer commitment buys you nothing ongoing. It buys a bigger one-time discount on the way in, and then everyone pays $25.99 a month regardless.

So the real question is not which plan is cheapest. They are all the same price. The question is how big an entry discount you want and how long you are locked in before the full rate shows up. That reframing is worth about $240 to anyone who was about to pick the annual plan believing it was the permanently cheaper option, and it is a good habit to carry into any companion app's pricing page.

Is the discount real?

Yes, and it is bigger than advertised. The page promises up to 75 percent off your first subscription. Against a $311.88 renewal, a $69.99 first payment is a 78 percent discount. The claim checks out and if anything understates itself, which is rare enough to note.

What the claim does not tell you is the size of the step up. On the monthly-billing plan you pay $12.99 and then $25.99, which is double. On the quarterly plan you pay $29.97 and then $77.97, about two and a half times. On the annual plan you pay $69.99 and then $311.88 a year later, roughly four and a half times what got you in the door.

That last one is the trap, and it is a slow one. Twelve months is long enough that most people have forgotten what they signed up for by the time the renewal lands, and the charge arrives at more than four times the size they remember agreeing to. Nothing is concealed, it is printed on the vendor's own page, but printed and remembered are different things. If you take the annual plan, put a reminder in your calendar for month eleven. It also helps to know what your subscriptions total across a year once they are all added up, because companion apps are rarely the only recurring charge someone is carrying.

Why do the plan names not match the billing periods?

Read those first two rows again. The plan called 3-Month Membership recurs monthly. The plan called Monthly Membership recurs every three months. The names and the intervals are swapped.

Taken literally, someone choosing Monthly because they want a one-month commitment is signing up for $77.97 charges every quarter. We do not think this is deliberate. The $29.97 first payment is exactly three times $9.99, which is what a three-month intro price would naturally look like, so the simplest explanation is that two labels got transposed when the page was written and nobody has caught it since.

Either way, the buying advice is the same: ignore the plan names on that page and read the recurring cost line. That line tells you what will hit your card and how often, and on this particular page it is the only line you can trust to be self-consistent.

What do the tokens cost?

The subscription is not the ceiling. DreamGF meters generation with tokens, and membership includes 100 of them a month. The published rates are 10 tokens for an image, 7 tokens per minute of voice calls, 3 tokens for a voice message, and 20 tokens to generate a new AI companion.

Those are not additive, so a mixed month burns through the allowance faster than any single row implies. For an app whose whole appeal is image generation, 10 pictures is one evening of playing with it, not a month of use.

Extra tokens come in packages that the page says run from $2.99 to $179.99. It does not publish the pack sizes or how many tokens each contains, so you cannot calculate a cost per token before subscribing, and there is no App Store listing to fall back on for that disclosure. Tokens are also sold only to premium members, so there is no way to buy generation credits without an active subscription first.

Is DreamGF legit, or is it a scam?

It is a real company and it identifies itself, which is the part people most often cannot confirm. DreamGF's terms of service name the operator as DreamAI SRL, a Romanian limited liability company with an address in Bucharest, registered with the Trade Registry Office of the Bucharest Tribunal under J40/12952/2023 and sole registration number 48479324. The same number appears in the site footer. Several larger competitors do not tell you who they are at all, so this is a genuine point in DreamGF's favour.

The confusion has a different and more specific cause. There is no official DreamGF app. We checked DreamAI SRL against Apple's own lookup service and the company has no App Store listing whatsoever. What you will find instead are two apps using the DreamGF name from unrelated developers: one whose other titles include a photo enhancer, a JPG converter and a sleep aid app, and one whose catalogue also contains an AI Lawyer app. The second has cloned both the DreamGF and DreamBF names, and DreamBF.ai happens to be a genuine sister site linked from DreamGF's own navigation, which makes the imitation harder to spot.

So if you paid inside an app called DreamGF and the credits never showed up in your account, you were not scammed by DreamGF. You paid somebody else. This is the fourth companion app where we have found this pattern, and the check that prevents it takes ten seconds: open the website's terms of service, find the operating company, and confirm the App Store seller name matches it. If it does not, the listing is not official.

One further quirk. Billing support runs through [email protected], a different domain from the one you subscribed on. Not sinister by itself, since companies do run several brands, but useful to know before a reply arrives from a name you do not recognise.

What happens if you want your money back?

This is the weakest part of the offering. DreamGF's terms say that if you are not satisfied you should contact support, and that refunds may be granted at its discretion. There is no stated window, no stated condition, and no stated process.

Compare that with the neighbours. Candy AI publishes a 24 hour refund window with a usage cap, which is tight but knowable. Nomi publishes a flat no-refunds policy, which is worse in substance but at least tells you exactly where you stand before you pay. Discretionary sits in an awkward middle: the answer depends on who opens your email and what mood they are in.

The practical response is to treat your first payment as spent. Start on the plan whose first payment you would shrug off, which is the $12.99 one, and only move to a longer term once you actually know you will use it. There is a free trial advertised, so use that before any of this becomes relevant.

On the plus side, the pricing page commits to no adult transactions appearing on bank statements, so the card descriptor is not meant to identify the service. That is a real consideration for a lot of buyers and DreamGF states it plainly.

So is DreamGF worth it?

Worth it if all of the following are true: images and video are the point, not conversation; you are comfortable at $25.99 a month once the intro ends; and you either accept the token ceiling or plan to buy packs on top. Under those conditions it is a competent image-first product from a company that tells you who it is and what it charges, which is not a low bar in this category.

Not worth it if what you actually want is someone to talk to. At $25.99 a month you would be renting a generation engine and using the chat, and the chat is the part the meter does not even bill for, which tells you where the product's attention has gone. You would also be paying for 10 images a month you may not want.
